FABRIC AND TRIMS

Today's blog post, i have shared with you all fabrics and trims i have sourced through a numerous amount of fabric stores in Melbourne. The fabric stores i found best to source materials and trims are Jimmy buttons, Spotlight, The fabric store, Darn cheap, Super cheap fabrics and Tessutti, they all have a wide variety of fabrics and trims so you all can find whatever you are looking for!

My colour theme for the range are quite monochromatic, focusing on the shades of black and white, with silver accents of eyelets and hook and eyes. However, i have incorporated samples of fabrics that have quite different textures and patterns to keep a black and white themed range far more interesting, with polka dot tulles and organzas accompanied by pinstripe lining and suiting materials. I quite like the look of mixing stripes with polka dots,polka dots being quite a feminine juxtaposed by stripes that can be quite masculine. The use of sheer fabric as well shows inspiration of how YSL also designed sheer blouses for women. I also sourced trims from jimmy buttons located on George street Fitzroy, i would highly recommend, if you love trims that is the place to be.
