Hello!

I hope everyone is having an amazing week!
My previous blogs have been updates of current collection work as well as insights in my brand and what the current collection "modern" is about, but today I wanted to write a post to you all about who i am as a designer and how I have grown throughout the years.
As a child I have always been aware of the fashion industry and fashion itself, I have had a fashionable fashion focused mother that used to own a small boutique of her own in the town we lived in. Always being around women and witnessing women’s shopping behaviours and habits, what they like and dislike as well as being consumed by clothes and the retail industry, as a young child working in store on the weekends or after school, I loved fashion, I loved clothes. As I grew older I experimenting with fashion, trends, and ideas I thought would look great mixed. As the girl that was known for “always dressing up” and being over dressed, I used to think to myself “so what?” “So what If I am over dressed?” I never used to understand why both men and women used to state to one another why the other was over dressed, or they shouldn’t dress up. As I grew up, I never understood why women more so then men used to state the fact that I was “too dressed up”. I think women have lost confidence in fashion and dressing up. As a designer I wanted to allow women to dress however they wanted, wherever they wanted. Want to go to Coles with heels and a dark red lip? Go right ahead. I feel, as women are now so judgmental of one another, wanting to have respect from men they seem to forget they also need to respect and gain respect from women. I wanted to always have a brand that would be to empower women, from men, women and themselves. To be an over all brand that loves women for who they are, I don’t want to hear “ why are you so dressed up” I want to hear “ wow you look amazing!” I personally think that’s important. Clothes are an escape, styling is an escape, and design is an escape. They allow me to be free and to be confident. I am not necessarily “confident” there are times and certain things I am not confident with, but as for fashion. Fashion makes me confident. As a designer, as a creator, as a stylist, I want women to also feel confident. Be happy with who they are and express themselves.
So I guess that’s a back story to who I am as a designer, a designer that wants to interact with women and help women feel confident with themselves and who they are.
Have an amazing week!
